Roma

Roma...mamma mia...molto bene.
We were 5minutes walk from the Trevi fountain, 10 minutes from the Roman forum, 20 minutes from the Colosseum and 1hour from the Vatican and we walked to them all. They were magnificent. The queues for the Cistene Chapel were three hours long so we simply walked around the Vatican and took photos...with my brand new digital camera. As soon as Ive read up on how to download the images I shall do so and post some.
The Colosseum, I was waiting for Russell Crowe but I guess he had urgent business elsewhere.Nevertheless, what a magnificent sight. With or without the original marble it was breathtaking.I could have stayed all day just soaking up the atmosphere but...the pope was due there that very evening, Good Friday, so we had to scarper by 2pm. Walked all over Pallatine Hill and back to our hotel, The Traiano on Novembre 1V, through the Roman forum. Phew.
I shall leave it here and write more tomorrow.
Ciao

Bonjourno Cous!

Ah yes the heady days of Rome!?
A wonderful few days...if not quite in the mode of Audrey Hepburn on the back of scooter!...coins duly tossed in the Trevi Fountain though eh!
However, like you, I puzzle over putting on weight, having walked all day every day...guess it was all the Italian carbs...and maybe a little vino!
