Saddam

So, the deed is done. The murderer is executed. I have no problems with the justice of this.

I do have problems with the morbid curiosity exhibited by some of the deed itself.

A human being has been disposed of by other human beings and a soul has left this earth. So be it. Now let it rest in whatever place it finds itself. It is not up to us any more to determine its fate.

Am I the only person to feel a shudder and shiver ? I do believe he was a mass murderer and deserved his fate. I dont believe he is alone in this crime. We have many more living and practising their art in the world today but in areas that the great Sauron eye of the USA has failed to settle on.Africa for example.Nothing there for any world power is there? Except starving people being massacred and humiliated on a daily basis.

Ho, hum, c'est la vie?!! Really?? The cradle of civilisation , defenceless men woman and children?

I must desist.Lest I move on to many many more such inhuman outrages.

Saddam is dead. How long will it be before another takes his place?

Why do people make their blogs soooo difficult to read? ...climate change ..fyi

I am a reasonably intelligent, nay, quite intelligent female (I have a 2.1 BSc Hons, plus a couple of post grad certificates to my name) and I teach literacy, which means I can and do read around a variety of subjects.I am also a highly qualified scientist with some 20 years experience of scientific research.....SO WHAT?!!! do I hear you cry?

Well, the point is, I checked out the blogs on climate change , for example, recently and they totally failed to move me in any way shape or form.Maybe Im looking in the wrong place but I really do believe that your average Joe, or Josephine wants to read about it in simple terms not those couched in political rhetoric or with some political agenda.

So , whilst I am of the firm opinion that Georgie boy is indeed a bushbaby, created not evolved, when it comes to climate change, here goes...

Planet Earth....CO2 in the atmosphere....good thing

Too much CO2....bad thing Burning fossil fuels, carbon emissions from aircraft etc, many and varied other stuff

Makes the Earth warm up too fast

Melts the polar ice caps

Floods loads of countries

Cools down the gulf stream

Cools the land

Leads to another ice age

Now, at the same time....Ozone layer at the poles...good thing

Prevents too much UV from getting through

Helps protect against skin cancer

CFCs in atmosphere.. bad thing from propellants, coolants etc

Destroy Ozone layer

Allow UV through

Give us more skin cancers

Just a teensy bit of Science there. Unequivocal.

Why is that so difficult for Georgie baby to understand? Could it be that he really doesnt want to believe that the good ole US of A may well have to toe the line when it comes to reducing carbon emissions, just like everyone else?

Well, anyone who doesnt believe in evolution (what about your opposable thumbs George?)

just aint gonna hack it with lil ole CO2nstuff now is he?

Any science questions need answering?

Feel free to ask.

About Italy

Well , here I am again.Thought Id squeeze this in before bedtime.

The gang and I went to Italy last Easter and ..theres the pic to prove it.

Some are missing.Ill post a few more later on.

Italy was beautiful.

So ...well...Italian! Yeah, I know that sounds nuts but I mean they havent changed too much to suit the tourists. And the people were warm and friendly.

Had a great time.Weather a bit different to good old UK right now.Grey and miserable.

Threatening storms and such tomorrow. Just as we had decided to venture forth into London to watch the New years eve fireworks at the London eye. Outside my comfort zone but I was going to make the effort. Not so sure now.May just stay at home and watch Jools Holland on the box.Hes bound to have someone good on.

Anyway, back to Italy. What a place and Pompeii.....! Yes I admit Im an archae freak but it was awe inspiring.

Capri was a revelation. So beautiful.Crystal clear turquoise waters and amazing scenery. No wonder Gracie Fields had a villa there.

Talking of Villas.....if you ever go there and see the signs to Villa Jovis..45minutes walk...dont believe it!! Take the walk, its worth it, but its an hour and a half, long hard slog, uphill in the sun.

Be warned!!

Time to post another pic..or two of the vacation.

I know it was last year, give me time.Ill do this years..Majorca...next time.

Ta Ta

Greetings

Hello everyone....is there anyone who might read this?

My first post.

Christmas 2006 , over.

Feeling fat and lacking motivation but will get to the gym in the new year.

Good Christmas.Happy time, saw family, played silly games.

My dad came over.He is in his 80s and so didnt play the games but didnt moan either!

Not much of interest here for anyone else Im sure.

Reading a superb book called " Stoneheart" by Charlie Fletcher.Childrens/teenagers book.

See , I really am still a big kid.Much more exciting than adult fiction.

I think Ill write to him, tell him to get a film producer interested. It will make a great film.Mark my words.

Played ZZ top and Queen full blast . Must put them on my ipod.

Gonna go and see if I can attach a photo to this.

See ya
